Oh my, this week's edition of Dumber Than Zane Trivia was a doozy! The Free Beer and Hot Wings Morning Show welcomed Eric the mechanic to the program in a battle of the Erics! Playing for the good people of Winchester, Virginia, there was no nervous laughter from Eric today as he had his game face on.

With the grand total at $5,600 in prize money and Zane in the middle of a big winning streak, Eric had a lot of pressure on him. Would he be able to handle it?

After winning the toss, Eric elected to go second.

Question 1 - What product made tons of dough with the slogan 'helps build strong bodies in twelve ways'? - Zane

Zane had to ask for a repeat of the question and didn't have an answer at first.  He took a wild guess with "Wonder Bread" going off the reference to "dough" in the question and nailed it to take a 1-0 lead.

Question 2 - How many buildings made up the World Trade Center in New York? - Eric

The guys tried to freeze Eric by playing clips of him laughing. After taking a bit of time, Eric guessed "seven" and tied the game at 1-1.

Question 3 - What is the name of the runway that models walk on? - Zane

It took Zane about a nanosecond to answer "catwalk" and take 2-1 lead.

Question 4 - What is the name of the army base in the state of New York? - Eric

After taking another suspicious pause, Eric guessed "West Point" to even up the game at 2-2. At this point, the guys started to call foul and accused Eric of cheating. Were they trying to mess with him? Did they really think he was cheating?

Question 5 - Which is the developmental phase identified by Freud in which a child uses his mouth? - Zane

Zane guessed "the oral stage" to re-take the lead at 3-2.

Question 6 - What novel gave rise to the phrase "Big Brother is watching you"? - Eric

Freshly accused of cheating, Eric didn't have the answer to the question here. Was he playing it safe? If it was a tactical move, it was a risky one as Zane was able to steal with an answer of "1984" and take a commanding 4-2 lead with a chance to win on the next question.

Question 7 - In Roman mythology, what is the name of the God of War? - Zane

IZane seemed confident with this one. After mentioning that he had an old teacher that was Greek, Zane guessed "Ares." Incorrect! At this point, Free Beer had to point out to Zane that the question was about Roman mythology. Zane rightly felt like an idiot. Eric then had a chance to steal back, but incorrectly guessed "Zeus" to keep the game at 4-2. We were hoping someone would guess Kratos.

Question 8 - Which Hollywood  actress famously sang Happy Birthday to JFK? - Eric

Eric correctly guessed "Marilyn Monroe" to narrow Zane's lead to 3-4. More cheating accusations directed at Eric. At this point it seems like the guys aren't just giving Eric a bit of gamesmanship, but are truly not happy.

Question 9 - Which opening regulates the amount of light entering through the lens of a camera? - Zane

With another chance to win, Zane guessed "shutter." Incorrect! Eric had another chance to steal and correctly guessed "aperture" to even the game up at 4-4. Now things were getting really dicey. Two chances to take the game and Zane missed both of them! Cheating accusations flying everywhere!

Question 10 - What European country ceased to exist on January 1, 1993? - Eric

After another long period of deliberation, where Eric at first thought that the answer was Germany, he eventually had a light bulb go off, and guessed "Czech... Czechoslovakia!" Free Beer reluctantly informed him that he just won.

The streak is over! Eric wins 5-4! None of the guys were happy about it!
