Free Beer, Hot Wings and Zane could not believe the story of Wallace Weatherholt, an Everglades City airboat captain who was recently arrested in Florida. Weatherholt's crime? Getting his hand bit off by an alligator.

On June 12, Weatherholt was leading a tour as part of Doug's Airboat Tours when he encountered a 9-foot alligator. While trying to feed a fish to the ancient giant, the gator leapt out of the water and bit off his hand at the wrist. Wildlife officers were able to track down the gator, kill it, and retrieve the hand from its stomach. But doctors could not reattach the lost appendage. Really though, how could you not want a hook at this point?

Technically, Weatherholt was charged with the unlawful feeding of alligators. But come on, the guy has already lost a hand over the unfortunate incident, now he has to get arrested? Free Beer, Hot Wings and everyone else thought that Weatherholt has probably learned his lesson by now. Later in the show, Free Beer said he learned that it's "not okay to feed an alligator, but it is okay to chase down the alligator and kill it."

Here's a local news video clip of the story:
