Just say "yeah."

Researchers at MIT conducted a study to find the most persuasive words you can use in a meeting.

The top one? “Yeah.”

The researchers said, “‘Yeah' makes the idea come across as if it were in line with previous thoughts by others, so the suggestion has a higher chance of being accepted.”

Other words that made the list include "give," "menu,” “start,” “meeting,” “touch,” “discuss" and “find.”

There are about 11 million meetings each day in America, so may we suggest uttering a sentence that goes something like this:

Yeah, I’ll give you the menu of ideas to start this meeting where we touch on a variety of topics and discuss what we find.”

We’re not guaranteeing you’ll be on the fast track to upper management, but based on this research it can’t hurt.
