Super Mario Brothers Get the Indie Film Treatment in ‘Mario’ [VIDEO]

A  live-action re-imagination of  Nintendo 8-bit hero Mario as an angst-ridden, mushroom-eating, down-on-his-luck plumber was a big hit this week at the South by Southwest arts festival in Austin, Texas.

"Mario," is a trailer-lengthened short, and filmmaker Joe Nicolosi doesn't  intend to turn it into a feature film.  So you can check out all two  minutes of the project below. (NSFW, language)
