Add preventing sunburns to the list of good things wine can do in addition to giving you a nice buzz.

Researchers from Spain's University of Barcelona analyzed what takes place when ultraviolet rays from the sun hits the skin.

They were able to determine that the flavonoids in grapes act to prevent the type of chemical reactions that result in sun burns and skin damage.

While this finding will ultimately be applied to making better sunscreens, for now it provides another great reason to enjoy a glass of vino on a warm summer's afternoon.
