Two of the NHL's "original six" franchises will meet in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1979. The Boston Bruins, representing the Eastern Conference, will face the Western Conference-champs, the Chicago Blackhawks, with Game 1 starting at 8 p.m. EST Wednesday night.

Both teams had relatively easy-conference final victories, with Boston sweeping the Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago only dropping one game against the L.A. Kings. Both teams are playing exceptional hockey at just the right time, which should make for an outstanding championship round.

Each team has been excellent killing penalties, with Bruins shutting out the Penguins' power play and the Blackhawks' having allowed just three goals in 58 chances so far in the playoffs. Both goaltenders are playing at the top of their game, which might lead to a lot of low-scoring, super-close games. You can expect a few of them to go to overtime (perhaps even multiple overtimes).

It's hard to pick a winner here, with both teams so evenly matched and playing at such high levels. But whoever wins, it should be fun to watch.
