A comedy and a drama hit theaters this weekend. A comedy and a drama? That's both kinds of faces on those masks!

Just after Pope Francis and two children released two doves into the air above St. Peter's Square in Rome on Monday, a seagull and a crow swooped in and attacked the smaller birds.

New this weekend: the latest update of a classic horror tale, and a critics' darling and multiple Golden Globe-winning drama expands to theaters across the country.

A report of shots fired on the campus of the University of Oklahoma came in at 11:17 a.m. CST. Police are on the scene; no victims have been reported as of yet.

Oscar nominations came out Thursday morning, with films like 'American Hustle' and '12 Years a Slave' leading the way. You can probably bet that none of this weekend's new releases will figure into next year's Oscars, but that doesn't mean there won't be something you like.
