Will Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Velvet Revolver’s Duff McKagan Form a New Supergroup? [VIDEO]
Singer Corey Taylor is best known for his role in two big-selling bands (Slipknot and Stone Sour), and the same can be said of bassist Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver).
There's a pretty good chance the next high-profile group for each of them will be a joint project, according to Taylor.
In a recent interview with Fuse TV, Taylor said he and McKagan "really hit it off" when they met and subsequently wrote some "really good" songs.
"So, you never know," Taylor said. "There might be a mystery supergroup out there -- me and Duff and some other weird people -- making some weird music that people are, like, 'What?! That's them?!'"
Taylor auditioned for Velvet Revolver's vacant lead-singer role (previously held by Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland), but he didn't get the job.
"But it was cool to just be able to get together and jam with those guys, and I made some really cool friends," Taylor said.
