New ‘Indiana Jones’ and ‘Jurassic Park’ Movies Are in the Works
It appears that Steven Spielberg has new installments of two long-running franchises in the pipeline, because you never miss a good thing until it’s gone. According to the director himself, wheels are turning on both an 'Indiana Jones V' and 'Jurassic Park IV.'
In a recent interview, Spielberg revealed that work has begun on a screenplay for the next story in the 'Jurassic Park' saga. He said, “The screenplay is being written right now by Mark Protosevich. I’m hoping that will come out in the next couple of years. We have a good story. We have a better story for four than we had for three.”
Spielberg also divulged that a story is being developed for another 'Indiana Jones' film, despite widespread criticism of the fourth in the series. When asked about future plans for the archeologist, he told Empire magazine, “You have to ask George Lucas. George is in charge of breaking the stories. He is working on Indy V. We haven’t gone to screenplay yet, but he’s working on the story.”
The Oscar winning director went on to say that even though others may not agree, he always puts his faith in the storytelling capabilities of his movie-making partner and friend.
“I am loyal to my best friend. When he writes a story he believes in – even if I don’t believe in it – I’m going to shoot the movie the way George envisaged it. I’ll add my own touches, I’ll bring my own cast in, I’ll shoot the way I want to shoot it, but I will always defer to George as the storyteller of the Indy series. I will never fight him on that.”
Spielberg is currently promoting his movie 'The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn,' which is scheduled for release in the US in December.
