Sample of Metallica and Lou Reed’s Song ‘The View’ Hits the Web
There's no mistaking Metallica's thick guitar attack and Lou Reed's spoken, attitude-driven vocals in 'The View,' a 38-second sample of which can be heard now online in advance of their joint album, 'Lulu.'
Due Nov. 1, 'Lulu' will include nine other songs, with three of them exceeding 10 minutes. 'The View' is among the shortest at 5:17. The album concludes with the longest of the bunch, 'Junior Dad,' which clocks in at 19:28.
Metallica and Reed produced the album along with assistance from Greg Fidelman (whose credits include Metallica's 'Death Magnetic' album) and Hal Willner (who has worked a few Reed solo albums).
The snippet of 'The View' seems to support what Reed told Rolling Stone earlier this year: "They're bringing Metallica, with all that power. And because they're pretty sophisticated, wherever I go, they're still with me."
