You've certainly heard of "an eye for an eye," but what about a ponytail for a ponytail?

In a strange criminal trial that was recently adjudicated in Utah, 13-year-old Kaytlen Lopan stood accused of the confusing crime of befriending a 3-year-old she met at a McDonald's and then cutting off her ponytail right then and there.

Kaytlen admitted to playing barber and was sentenced to 30 days in detention and 276 hours of community service. But Judge Scott Johansen offered to reduce the penalty by 150 hours of community service if the hair cutting con's mom, Valerie Bruno, lopped off Kaytlen's own ponytail in court.

Bruno did so, but is now complaining that she felt intimidated by the judge, and wishes she hadn't cut her daughter's hair. Johansen also sentenced another girl, 11, who was involved in the crime to having her hair shorn "as short as his." However, that youngster was allowed to have her punishment doled out in a proper salon.
