Does US Olympic Success Make You Proud to Be an American? — Survey of the Day
The Olympic creed begins "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part."
While that's all fine and good, competitors only get to spend time on the podium if they finish in the top three, and every morning during the Games newspapers rank the participating countries on how many medals they have won.
