Do You Avoid Olympic Results So You Can Watch the Events on TV? — Survey of the Day
The 2012 Summer Games in London presents a dilemma for Olympic fans in the United States.
Since NBC is broadcasting the entire games on fairly extreme tape delay you basically have to avoid the internet and all the office chatter if you want to watch the evening broadcast with any element of suspense. So are viewers choosing to shield themselves from Olympic results during the day?
According to a survey of 1,082 adults by USA TODAY/Gallup, not really. Only 20 percent answered that they avoid learning results before watching taped coverage, whereas 25 percent actively try to find the results during the day and 52 percent make no effort either way.
