‘Bad News Bears’ Star Is Running for Congress
As a child actor, David Pollock played Rudi Stein, one of the lovable losers in the 'Bad News Bears' film franchise from the '70s.
That role was pretty much the bulk of Pollock's acting career, and he never made the transition to adult actor.
Now, he hopes to make the transition to congressman. He is running for Congress as a Democrat representing California's 26th Congressional District.
To borrow a phrase that would've fit in 'The Bad News Bears,' his decision isn't coming out of left field. After getting an MBA, Pollock worked for Boeing and, for the last 17-years, the 50-year-old has been serving on the City Council and the Board of Education in Morpark, California.
If he wins he would join a group of actors who eventually became national politicians that includes Sonny Bono, Al Franken, Fred Grundy (Gopher from 'Love Boat'), Fred Thompson and, of course, Ronald Reagan.
