There is nothing quite like walking into a public restroom facility only to find that the last person to take a seat at the porcelain throne was apparently a direct descendant of Bigfoot and an eclectic connoisseur of hot-and-spicy foods.

Not only can this rotten revelation cause a person to lose all hope for humanity, but it has a way of driving a disturbing wedge between one’s dignity and pride, replacing it with the savage actions of a wild beast.

However, a well-traveled individual will tell you that for all the putrid spectacles of bathroom debauchery witnessed across this great country, there are also some outstanding facilities available that raise the bar of the total bathroom experience.

To celebrate public facilities that go above and beyond, Cintas Corporation is sponsoring the America’s Best Bathroom Contest, for the 11th year in a row.

The company recently released the 2012 nominees in hopes of getting the public to come forward and vote for the most eye-catching lavatory in the country.

The first seven nominees are listed below. To see the full list, click here.
