The CW Says ‘Yes’ to ‘Sex and the City’ Prequel, ‘The Carrie Diaries’
Attention, 'Sex and the City' fans: if you've ever wondered about Carrie Bradshaw's life before she became part of that fabulous foursome of friends, it looks like you're about to have your questions answered because the CW has greenlit a prequel series.
The cable network is adapting the book series 'The Carrie Diaries' -- written by 'Sex and the City' scribe Candance Bushnell -- for television.
Bushnell's book series tells of Carrie's original struggles to make it as a writer in New York, but you won't see some of her besties from the original HBO series. In fact, lusty Samantha Jones is the only other main character to appear in the backstory.
Rumors of a 'SATC' prequel first surfaced back in September 2011, and now the question on everyone's mind is which young actress will get the plum role of a pre-'Mr. Big' Carrie.
