‘Porky’s’ Star Wyatt Knight Found Dead in Hawaii of Apparent Suicide

Actor Wyatt Knight (pictured here, far right) who played Tommy Turner in all of the 'Porky's' movies, was found dead on the island of Maui, and it turns out that he took his own life last month to escape the pain of ongoing cancer treatments.

Silvinia Knight, the wife of the actor, says her  56-year-old husband wanted to escape the "physical and emotional pain" the treatments cause. He had planned the suicide for awhile, his wife says, deciding to end the pain "in a beautiful and serene place."

Besides the three 'Porky's' movies, Knight was in the movies 'Murder in Texas' and 'Maniac Magee,' as well as several TV shows, including 'The Waltons,' 'Family Ties,' Star Trek: The Next Generation,' and 'Chicago Hope.' His last role was in the TV series 'Crafty' last year.
