Survey Reveals Office Holiday Parties Are a Thing, So Is Giving Lame Gifts to Co-Workers
Which would you rather have, an office holiday party or a holiday bonus?
Well, a new survey indicates slightly more will be getting the holiday party.
Nearly 60% of employers will throw a company holiday party this year. It may be a great bash and all, but only 20% of employees say they’ll show up.
Forty-five percent of employers, meanwhile, say they will dole out holiday bonuses, while 35% also claim they’ll give holiday gifts.
Only 22% of workers will swap gifts with their co-workers, while 21% will go out and buy something special for their boss. When it comes to giving presents to co-workers, 78% of those who intend to buy them will spend a maximum of $25.
Here’s a look at 10 of the most bizarre gifts given to colleagues:
1. 50 pounds of fresh Louisiana shrimp
2. A picture of the boss's family
3. A plaster cast of a co-worker's hand
4. A half-eaten box of candy
5. Homemade laundry detergent
6. Eggs
7. Camouflage toilet paper
8. A unicorn calendar
9. Stamps
