After surveying more than 1,000 people, flight-comparison website Skyscanner has discovered what travelers deem the very best seat on a plane.

So, what is it?

Research found it's row 6, seat A. Why all the love for that particular spot?

It seems passengers prefer window seats by a margin of 60 percent, and nearly half like rows closer to the front of the plane to make boarding and disembarking easier. And thus, seat 6A won out.

Which spot do travelers hate most? Row 31, seat E, a middle seat towards the back of the aircraft.

Sam Baldwin, Skyscanner’s Travel Editor, said, “Some passengers seem to opt for the middle section near the wings where they are less likely to feel turbulence while others want to be near the front for ease of getting off the plane, less engine noise or even to get a better choice of food available."

He adds window seats are preferred by those who want to sleep during their flights, but those with longer legs like aisle seats so they can stretch out more.

And here's a bit of insider information from frequent fliers: if you want to nap, opt for the left side of the plane. The windows are off-center, which gives you more wall space against which to rest your weary head.
