Joe Jonas' new single, 'See No More,' details the aftermath of a nasty breakup, so it's perhaps understandable that tongues are wagging about the possibility that it was inspired by the end of his relationship with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift.

But according to Jonas, those rumors are way off base.

"No. That’s not about her," Jonas flatly told Metro UK -- but then he added, "When I write songs I don’t say who they are about because I don’t want the audience to relate to what was going on with me when I wrote it. You say one thing and it becomes a big rumor."

Either way, Jonas says he and Swift have come a long way since he infamously dumped her with a 30-second phone call. In fact, he thinks they might even end up working together at some point. "I think there’s a great opportunity for that to happen. We’re friendly, we’re not enemies," he insists. "People like to think that once you’ve dated, that’s it and you can never be friends again. They see it in a very black and white way. But there’s a middle ground in that situation."
