If he likes it, he’s going to have to put a ring on it.

Again.

A Laguna Niguel, California man made the ultimate blunder when he accidentally sold his wife’s $23,000 diamond wedding ring at a garage sale for a measly 10 bucks.

Racquel Cloutier was in the hospital earlier this month after having delivered a baby, so her hubby, Eric, thought he’d gather some items the family doesn’t need and sell them during a community-wide garage sale. Racquel said one of the items he decided to hawk was a watch box he thought was empty:

He didn’t know that before I went to the hospital, I put my ring in that box. I wanted the ring to be in a safe place and out of reach from my 2-year-old twins.”

Whoops.

After returning home from the hospital, Racquel hunted high and low for the box before Eric told her he had sold it. Good luck tracking down the person who bought it – Eric says it was a blonde woman and they’re not exactly in short supply in California.

As for his blunder, Eric “feels really terrible.”

Gee, you think?
