As an owner of a professional sports team, you have an obvious, vested interest in your team's success on the field. How close should an owner be to that field, though?

Some team owners tend to be very proactive with their teams. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is also the team's general manager. (Some would say he's practically the head coach, too.) Jones recently said that he'll always be the team's general manager. At this point in his career, should he instead hang back and let his staff take control of the team?

If an owner is constantly around the team—especially if they are struggling—does it help or hurt them?
