Heather Locklear Is ‘Under a Doctor’s Care’ for Outpatient Treatment
Earlier this month, actress Heather Locklear was rushed to the hospital after mixing alcohol and prescription medication -- and now sources say she's "under a doctor's care."
The 50-year-old 'Melrose Place' actress has struggled with anxiety and depression for years, and many thought the episode a couple weeks ago would land her in rehab. But insiders say she's "decided for now to seek recovery without an in-patient program."
"Her family and friends haven't given up hope, but they know that for her to get well, she has to want it for herself," the source says. "She's the only one who can do it."
Locklear's woes have somewhat overlapped with those of Demi Moore, another beauty-of-a-certain-age, who clocked some hospital time herself on Monday in what some have called a "substance abuse situation."
Both ladies have had recent personal struggles -- Locklear called off her engagement to longtime boyfriend Jack Wagner a few months back, and Moore's marriage to actor Ashton Kutcher fell apart after a cheating scandal last summer.
