It's been a rough road for 18-year-old Demi Lovato, who left rehab in January after being treated for "physical and emotional issues." Since then, she's been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and has spoken openly about her struggle with cutting and an eating disorder.

However, Lovato seems to be staging a comeback, and released a song today called 'Skyscaper,' the first single from her untitled new album, and her first new music since her stint in rehab.

The song is an emotional ballad with highly confessional lyrics, and, according to Lovato, was "inspired by my journey and the struggles that I've dealt with this past year."

The new single entered the iTunes top 10 only a few short hours after being released. "Okay I'm literally balling my eyes out right now ... So grateful for my friends and fan's support.. Wow... So happy, so blessed..." Lovato tweeted to her more than 3.5 million followers.

Lovato's new album is slated to be released this fall.
