When 50 Cent showed up at Tuesday's United Nations-sponsored 'Every Woman, Every Child' event in New York, many of those in attendance were surprised to see the usually-shorn superstar sporting an Afro hair style as he posed for photos with self-help author Deepak Chopra and Kami, the HIV-positive Muppet from the South African version of ‘Sesame Street.’

Rap-Up reports the soiree, attended by dignitaries from around the globe, was held to announce new initiatives in support of achieving health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by Dec. 31, 2015.

To help meet that goal, proceeds from the sales of Fiddy's Street King energy drink are being donated to provide meals to hungry children around the world.

“It is my personal mission to do more to help those struggling through world hunger,” he said. “I am committed to providing 1 billion meals for women and children.”

Looks like he's already well on his way. The day after the event, the rapper tweeted, "I personally donated 10 million meal at last night United Nations event. I met so many amazing people."
