Van Halen New Album Rumor Round-Up

We still haven’t seen any official announcements from the band, but it’s clear that something is happening in the world of Van Halen — and the latest mini-flurry of VH activity, which includes the band’s first official Facebook page and a warning from vocalist David Lee Roth to ‘get ready…,’ has sparked a new round of rumors regarding their long-awaited new album.

The new collection, which will be Van Halen’s first full-length album since 1998′s ‘III’ and first with Roth since way back in ’1984,’ has reportedly been finished with an assortment of producers led by John Shanks. Now, rumors are pointing to a fall release.

The set — which doesn’t have an officially announced title, but is supposedly going to be called ‘Two Zero One One’ — is rumored to be 14 songs in length, with supposed track titles that include ‘Hurricanes’ and ‘Stop Talking.’

Perhaps most intriguing for longtime fans: the rumor that “only two tracks feature keyboards of any type.”

If the new Van Halen album really does drop in the fall, it would hit shelves around the same time as the new one from Chickenfoot, the supergroup led by ex-VH members Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony — a retail rock rivalry bigger than anything since Peter Cetera released his first post-Chicago solo album alongside his former band’s ‘Chicago 18.’
