Illegal aliens, beware!

Steven Seagal has officially joined the fight against illegal border crossings after he was sworn in as a sheriff’s deputy in Hudspeth County, Texas over the weekend.

Seagal has signed on full-time to help secure the Texas/Mexico border. Of course, police work is nothing new for the action star. Seagal has been a deputy for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana for almost 20 years.

His work in Louisiana even spawned an A&E reality series called ‘Steven Seagal: Lawman,’ in which he takes viewers along for the ride as he and his team of deputies respond to crimes in progress in Jefferson Parish. However, a rep for Seagal insists his new role on the Texas border has nothing to do with the reality show.

A local sheriff confirmed Seagal’s sincere interest in protecting American borders, saying, “It became very clear to me that Mr. Seagal is not in this for the celebrity or the publicity ... He's like the rest of us that live down here, he has a sincere passion for his country and he wants to do more to help."
