Rod Gilbert
Age: 71
Profession: Retired NHL Player
Best Known For: Canadian-born Rod Gilbert was one of the greatest New York Rangers of all time, playing his entire career with the organization from 1960 to 1978. A right wing, Gilbert played in eight NHL All-Star games and still holds Rangers’ franchise records for career goals (406) and points (1021). Gilbert was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982.

Steve Shutt
Age: 60
Profession: Retired NHL Player
Best Known For: A three-time All-Star, Steve Shutt was a left wing on the Montreal Canadiens teams that won five Stanley Cups during the 1970s. Shutt played all but the final year of his career from 1972 to 1985 with Montreal, where the native Canadian teamed with Guy Lafleur and Jacques Lemaire on the most productive line in hockey. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1993.

Nancy Lieberman
Age: 54
Profession: Retired Women’s Basketball Player
Best Known For: A two-time Olympian and Basketball Hall of Famer, Nancy Lieberman is one of the greatest women’s basketball players of all-time. While in college at Old Dominion University from 1976 to 1980, Lieberman led the school to two AIAW national titles and was named an All-American in 1978, 1979 and 1980. At age 39, Lieberman played for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women’s National Basketball Association in its inaugural year of 1997. From 1998 to 2001, Lieberman served as general manager and head coach of the WNBA’s Detroit Shock. In 2008, Lieberman, 50, returned to play for the Shock, breaking her own record as the oldest player in WNBA history. In 2009, Lieberman became the first woman ever to coach a men’s professional basketball team, as she led the Texas Legends of the NBA’s Development League.

Age: 51
Profession: Retired U.S. Olympian
Best Known For: One of the most decorated U.S. Olympians in history, Carl Lewis
won 10 Olympic medals, including 9 gold, during an international career that spanned from 1979 to 1996. Lewis won four gold medals — in the 100 and 200 meters, long jump and 4 x 100 meter relay — at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Lewis won subsequent gold medals in the long jump over the next three Olympics (1988, 1992 and 1996), adding another in the 100 meters in 1988 and in the 4 x 100 relay in 1992.

Jarome Iginla
Age: 35
Profession: NHL Player
Best Known For: A six-time All-Star, Jarome Iginla is the Calgary Flames’ all-time leader in goals, points and games played. The Canadian-born Iginla was named the Flames captain for the start of the 2003–04 season, becoming the first black captain in NHL history. Iginla was a member of the Canadian teams that won gold medals at the 2002 and 2010 Winter Olympics.

Forrest Griffin
Age: 33
Profession: Mixed Martial Arts Fighter
Best Known For: After winning the first season of the reality competition TV show ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ in 2005, Forrest Griffin went on to become a UFC Light Heavyweight champion in 2008. His fight against Stephan Bonnar at the end of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ in 2005, is considered one of the greatest fights in mixed martial arts history.

Nelson Cruz
Age: 32
Profession: MLB Player
Best Known For: A 2009 All-Star selection, Nelson Cruz is a power-hitting outfielder for the Texas Rangers. Having played most of his eight year MLB career with the Rangers, Cruz was the Most Valuable Player of the 2011 American League Championship Series, which Texas won over the Detroit Tigers. Cruz secured the ALCS MVP by setting MLB postseason records for home runs (6) and RBIs (13) in a series.
