Bullying used to be considered something kids just had to deal with, but these days there is more and more pressure on schools to take direct actions to end bullying. A recent survey asked exactly how:

According to a University of Michigan poll of 2,144 adults, 95 percent think a school should intervene if bullying makes a student afraid for his safety. Eighty-one percent think a school should get involved if the bullying humiliates or embarrasses, and 75 percent think a school should be responsible for dealing with bullying that spreads false rumors.

However, things got a bit more muddled when the respondents were asked about one of the most common forms of bullying: social isolation. Only 56 percent think the school should jump in if a student is being ignored or shunned.
