GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum is back on the campaign trail after his daughter Bella was released from the hospital on Monday night.

During the long campaign, Santorum has sometimes hit the pause button to be with his daughter, who has a chromosomal condition that frequently has an impact her health.

In a statement, Santorum Communications Director Hogan Gidley said, "Rick and [his wife] Karen are happy to announce that their daughter Bella has been discharged from the hospital and returned home earlier Monday evening. The Santorums are truly overwhelmed by the prayers and support they've received," adding Rick and his wife Karen were canceling Tuesday morning events to get Bella settled in back at home.

The campaign said he would still attend the evening's American Heartland Conversation on Faith, Family and American Values at a bible college in Lancaster, PA.

Pennsylvania, Santorum's home state, holds its primary on April 24. In light of Bella's latest health crisis, GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney did pull one nasty attack ad in the state -- but now that Santorum is campaigning again, the $3 million Romney has spent on ad buys is reportedly back in full force.
