Sales in the music industry have been in a tailspin for the last 10 years, but a young songwriter can still make a pretty good living for himself with a hit or two under his belt.

For proof, look no further than the giant cluster of diamonds on the finger of Randy Houser's new fiancée, Jessa Lee Yantz.

Houser, who has co-written a spate of hits for artists such as Trace Adkins, Justin Moore, and Jessie James, as well as scoring a top 10 hit in his own right with 'Boots On,' proposed to Yantz with a handmade ring last month. After she said yes, he took her to his jeweler in Nashville, where the happy couple added a few hundred diamonds.

"The complexity of a handmade ring of this degree was a great challenge, but the creative input and passion from both Randy and Jessa helped us create something not only gorgeous and brilliant, but tasteful and timeless," said head jeweler David King, describing the 5.5-carat double halo of diamonds. "Custom designing the ring for Randy and Jessa was an enjoyable and creative process. Randy is such a cool, laid-back guy who really loves her so much, and Jessa is an artistic young woman with an amazing eye for design, which made the process really fun and easy."

For his part, Houser sounds a little bemused by all the attention. "I had no idea anyone would care that I’m engaged," he quipped. "But I want to thank everyone for their outreach and support regarding the news of our engagement. Jessa makes me a better person every day, and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her."
