New York police removed Occupy Wall Street protesters from their Zucotti Park in an early morning raid this week, and it seems the majority of everybody else couldn’t be happier. According to a telephone survey of 1,170 Americans from Poll Position, 54 percent of Americans agreed with New York’s decision to oust the protesters, who’ve been based in the park for the last two months.

Only 28 percent of folks disapproved of the action, and 18 percent didn’t care to offer their opinion.

How folks felt about the action broke down along party lines: a plurality of democrats believe the protesters should have been allowed to stay in the park, while a majority of republicans and political independents supported the ouster. It seems the Occupy Wall Street movement no longer represents the “99 percent.”
