Having your car stolen is bad enough, but Carol Denmead of Arizona experienced something even more traumatizing than your basic carjacking: a stolen vehicle with her precious pup inside.

The 12-year-old collie mix was waiting in Denmead's 2005 Pontiac last Thursday morning while she quickly ran inside a pharmacy.

Denmead left the car on with the keys in the ignition so Joey, the dog, wouldn't get too hot under the Arizona sun. When she came back outside, the car was gone along with her beloved furry companion.

A few days later, Joey was found wandering around the east side of town. Reports say he was tired and hungry, but in good health and happy when reunited with his human pal.

Three people have been arrested for the theft of Denmead's car. According to the alleged thieves, they dropped the dog off behind a grocery store.

It's nice to see Denmead can join a happy list of people who've reunited with beloved animals. Check out some others here.
