Michael Vick Tells Congress to Make It Illegal to Attend Dog Fights [VIDEO]

Michael Vick is lending his support to a congressional bill that will penalize those who attend animal fights.

The Animal Fighting Spectator Prohibition Act would make attending an animal fight a misdemeanor punishable up to a year in prison. Under the act, bringing a child to an animal fight could cost an offender up to three years in jail.

Speaking on Capitol Hill, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback acknowledged that seeing dogfights as a kid “had a huge impact on me.”

Vick added that criminalizing animal fighting attendance would be an effective deterrent because if “you take away the profits, you can eliminate the problem.”

Since being released from prison after serving 21 months for felony dog fighting charges, Vick has spoken out against dog fighting on behalf of the Humane Society.

Read on for a video of Vick’s latest dog fighting remarks.
