The release date seems to be set in stone -- or maybe in this case, it should be set in metal: Megadeth's new studio album, 'TH1RT3EN,' will arrive Nov. 1 on Roadrunner Records.

"This record is the culmination of my work over the 13 records I recorded," singer, guitarist and leader Dave Mustaine said. "There are moments on 'TH1RT3EN' that capture my every emotion, and other moments where I am releasing feelings I never knew existed! My proudest moments of my musical career are captured on 'TH1RT3EN.'"

The number 13 has always had a special place in Mustaine's heart. He was born on Sept. 13, and at age 13, he started playing guitar.

Megadeth’s 13th album marks the recorded return of bassist Dave Ellefson. He's been playing shows with Megadeth since early 2010, but he hasn't recorded with the band since 'Rude Awakening,' which was released in 2002.

In other Megadeth news, the paperback edition of 'Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir' -- featuring a new chapter -- arrived in stores this week.
