Man Arrested After Performing Drunk, Naked Surgery on His Dog

Chicago Tribune

While there’s never really a good time to perform surgery on one’s pet, it’s safe to say the worst time you can possibly make this poor decision is after a long night of drinking.

Meet Stewart Gibbs, who got really drunk and then tried to use a kitchen knife to remove a cyst behind his Doberman’s ear.

The result was a bloody mess and a clean-up attempt that flooded his bathtub, causing water to dump into the apartments below him.

Eventually, the police were called. They found Gibbs naked and covered in blood, and his dog with a wounded ear. The 44-year old Chicago man confessed his inebriation and his attempt at surgery.

Gibbs was charged with one count of felony aggravated cruelty to animals.

The dog was treated for its injury and turned over to Animal Care and Control.
