The new trend in Japan is LED teeth -- a mouth-guard like insert that lights up when the user smiles.

Especially popular among Japanese schoolgirls, some  also purchase a wireless hand-held computer which allows them to switch up the colors of their LED teeth on the fly.

Anyone who has seen a hip-hop video knows Americans aren’t opposed to sticking shiny things in their mouth, so maybe the trend will catch on here, too.
