Free Beer and Hot Wings welcomed former MLB pitcher John Rocker to the show this morning. Rocker is of course known for his racist slurs about people in New York when he pitched for the Atlanta Braves. They chatted with Rocker about racism, his new book Scars and Strikes and the HBO's Eastbound and Down, which is based loosely on Rocker.

The best part of the interview had to have been when the guys asked Rocker if he thought Mark McGwire and others who used steroids should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Rocker told them, "Maybe after postpartum." Rocker meant to say "postmortem" but Free Beer showed no mercy and immediately called him. Everyone in the studio laughed as Rocker took it all in stride. Apparently it had already been a very long day for him!

With all the controversy around Rocker's remarks, Free Beer and Hot Wings talked about the backlash on shows like Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Rocker actually loved the Will Ferrell skit on SNL. He told the guys that his favorite line was when Ferrell says, "I bow hunt! I love my FATHER! I love IRON EAGLE MOVIES!"
