It wasn't long ago that Foster the People was a name nobody knew, and bandleader Mark Foster was paying the bills by writing commercial music. What a difference a hit single makes.

On Saturday, the suddenly ubiquitous trio performed on 'Saturday Night Live,' delivering live renditions of 'Houdini' and their platinum Top Five hit 'Pumped Up Kicks' to a nationwide audience.

For 'Houdini' on the second half, the performers were joined by none other than smooth jazz icon Kenny G, underscoring just how far Foster the People have come in such a short while. Their debut album 'Torches' has already gone Top 10 at Billboard and been certified gold since its May release.
