When staying in a hotel, there is an expectation of privacy, right? Well, ESPN correspondent Erin Andrews lost that privacy big time in 2008 when video was taken of her naked through a hole in her hotel room wall and then leaked onto the Internet. Andrews is now filing suit.

Andrews is seeking a total of $10 million in damages. She is suing Nashville’s West End Marriott for $6 million, plus costs and interest, and Michael Barrett, who pleaded guilty to the crime and was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in federal prison, for $4 million.

Andrews was in Nashville to cover a Vanderbilt University game at the time when, according to the lawsuit, the Marriott, where she was staying, told Barrett what room she was in and then booked him in the room next door. Barrett then made a hole in the wall through which he could see into Andrews’ room and videotaped her getting ready in the nude.

The suit asserts that the video Barrett took, posted and shared, as well as the national attention it drew, caused Andrews “great emotional distress and embarrassment.”
