The CBS drama 'CSI' is getting another infusion of new talent: Oscar-nominated actress Elisabeth Shue has signed on to replace departing longtime cast member Marg Helgenberger.

Shue, 48, known for roles in movies like 'Adventures in Babysitting,' 'The Karate Kid,' 'Cocktail,' and 'Leaving Las Vegas,' will make her first appearance on 'CSI' in February. Her character has a past with D.B. Russell, played by fellow new cast member Ted Danson, and apparently a bit of a temper -- she arrives right after taking mandatory anger management classes.

In a statement, 'CSI' executive producer Carol Mendelsohn said, "While it’s difficult to say goodbye to a beloved character like [Helgenberger's] Catherine Willows, it’s exciting to start a journey with a new CSI, especially when that character is played by Elisabeth Shue. The new CSI also struggles with ‘brutal honesty issues’ and suffers no fools.”
