If you thought Donald Trump was out of politics for good, you might have to think again. The businessman and host of TV's 'The Apprentice' franchise says he's unhappy with the way the GOP race is going and may jump back in.

Trump, who famously questioned President Obama's American citizenship and demanded to see his long-form birth certificate last year, went on CBS' 'Face the Nation' on Sunday and told Bob Schieffer the "infighting" among the Republican nominees was ruining the party's chances for a win in November.

"I've never seen anything like this. It's Republican against Republican, and yet the level of hatred, I guess you could say, I mean, there's no other word for it, is unbelievable," he said.

While he thinks Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney are "both strong guys, they're both tough guys" who could beat Obama in a general election, Trump said he wouldn't rule out the possibility of running as an independent if "I don't see a person that ... is going to win."

"I think people dislike the Republicans and the Democrats more than they ever have," he added. "So I actually think the right Independent could win, and there was a poll about a month ago, you saw it, where I was the number one Independent choice."

"It's not something I want to do [but] I would certainly think about doing it," Trump concluded. "I hope I don't have to, but I may absolutely."
