Anthony Galea did not provide Tiger Woods with performance-enhancing drugs.

That was the message from Galea's former assistant, Mary Anne Catalano, through her attorney Ron Personius on Monday. Galea, a Toronto doctor with known ties to high-level athletes such as Woods, Alex Rodriguez, and Carlos Beltran, pleaded guilty last month to importing misbranded and unapproved drugs -- including human growth hormone -- into the U.S.

In an email to the New York Daily News, Personius said "I tell you categorically that Tiger did NOT receive either banned or performance enhancing drugs when treating with Dr. Galea."

Catalano pleaded guilty last year to providing false statements to investigators and will be sentenced later this year.

Despite suspicions of their relationship, Woods has never denied a connection to Galea. The world's former top-ranked golfer says he received platelet-rich plasma therapy from Galea, but insists PEDs were not used in the treatment.

Galea is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 19.
