Do You Live Paycheck to Paycheck? — Survey of the Day

Daniel Crowley, Flickr

Thanks to the great recession more folks are living paycheck to paycheck than they were in rosier economic times.

However, according to a survey of 3800 workers by Career Builder, the percentage that need their next payday to pay their financial obligations is down a bit this year

The poll found that 40 percent of Americans are relying on their next paycheck to make ends meet.┬áThat’s down from 42 percent last year and 46 percent in 2008.

Women are more likely than men to live paycheck to paycheck. Forty-four percent of the poll’s female respondents indicated that that’s how their finances work, whereas only 36 percent of the males did.
