Los Angeles Dodgers Ace Clayton Kershaw Wins National League Cy Young Award
Los Angeles Dodgers star Clayton Kershaw sailed to an easy Cy Young Award victory after winning the National League pitching triple crown this past season.
Kershaw tied for the league with 21 victories and led the way with 248 strikeouts and a 2.28 ERA.
The 23-year-old pitcher becomes the youngest hurler to win the award since 20-year-old Dwight Gooden notchedthe honor in 1985. Kershaw took home the NL Gold Glove for pitchers earlier this off-season. Not bad for a guy who earned just $500,000 last season.
Philadelphia Phillies veteran and last year's winner Roy Halladay finished second in the voting, while Halladay's teammate Cliff Lee came in third.
