NBA star Delonte West, who just three years ago signed a $12.7 million contract, is apparently feeling the unemployment pinch of the league's lockout.

Last week, the Boston Celtics guard tweeted, "It's official.. Pride 2 the side.. just filled out a application at Home Depot.. Lockout aint a game.."

While many of his fellow hoopsters are spending their time off playing in leagues overseas, a 2010 weapons conviction and subsequent probation has made that an impossibility for West.

As he explained in another tweet, "Can't even go get that over seas money.. Judge said it's a no go on leaving the country..."

Thus proving that the old adage about saving for a rainy day wasn't such a bad idea, after all.
