Autotopsy on Florida Megachurch Pastor Zachery Tims Inconclusive
Investigations continue into the death of Zachery Tims, the Florida megachurch pastor who was found dead in a Times Square hotel room in New York on Friday night.
The 42-year-old Tims, who struggled with drug addiction as a youth, had a small envelope containing a white powder in his pocket, which has not yet been tested. Autopsy results thus far have been inconclusive.
He was the senior pastor and founder of New Destiny Christian Center, an 8,000-member nondenominational church just outside Orlando, Florida. The center's website claims the Sunday worship services, aired on both radio and television, reach more than 100 million homes worldwide.
Members took to the church's Facebook page to express their grief, with one writing, "Forever grateful to Dr. Tims and NDCC. Our daughter and son in law began their Christian journey with Pastor Tims. On this sad day we want to send our condolences to his family and flock and simply say... Thank you! His life and ministry were not in vain."
